Services

Specialist acreage maintenance. Done properly.

If your property has slopes that other operators decline, or terrain that's too steep for a standard zero-turn, you're in the right place. We run one piece of equipment — the Ventrac 4520P — and we know it well enough to use it on terrain that would stop most operators.

The equipment

Ventrac 4520P

Articulated 4WD tractor. 31 horsepower. Dual wheels fitted. Rated for continuous operation on slopes up to 30 degrees (58% grade). This is not an edge-of-envelope rating — it's the continuous operating specification with dual wheels, meaning we work at that angle for an entire day, not just pass over it briefly.

Two deck configurations

Tough Cut deck

For slopes, heavy vegetation, and overgrown areas. Cuts grass, weeds, and woody stems up to 25mm. This is the primary deck on sloped terrain.

Finish mower

For grass in good condition — shorter, denser growth without surface rock. Deck set lower than the Tough Cut for a cleaner result. Used on slopes as well as flat ground.

Most jobs use both. The Tough Cut handles the slopes and the rough stuff; the finish mower takes care of the paddock and the flatter sections around the house.

What we do
  • Slope mowing up to 30 degrees
  • Finish mowing where grass conditions allow
  • Vegetation slashing — overgrown areas and fire-break preparation
What we don't do

We don't do tree felling, chemical spraying, fencing, earthworks, or irrigation. If you need any of those, we'll point you to operators we trust.

Engagement models

Recurring contract or one-off jobs

Recurring contract

Monthly visits in the growing season (October to April), one or two visits through winter (May to September). Scheduled in advance. Recurring clients are typically managed on an annual cycle. For a recurring client on a 10-acre property, typical annual spend across the full cycle is in the range of $5,000 to $10,000.

One-off jobs

Single visits for establishment clean-ups, annual fire-break slashing, post-storm catch-up, and property preparation. One-off clients who are happy with the work often move to a recurring arrangement. Both models are priced at the same day rate.

Before the first visit

We walk every new property before the first job.

We assess the slope on the ground, identify any hazards, and plan the approach. We'll ask you about any areas you want left alone, animals on the property, and any native vegetation to be avoided. This is not optional. It's how we keep both of us safe.

Surface rock is a particular feature of properties in this area: the geology underlying Pullenvale and Brookfield produces volcanic rock outcrops across many slopes, ranging from small surface stones to boulders that need to be worked around. A regularly maintained property is straightforward to navigate; on a property that has been left unmanaged, rock can be completely hidden in long grass. We identify rock during the site walk and factor it into the job estimate.

Ventrac fitted with a rock grapple attachment. Clearing loose volcanic rock from slopes before mowing reduces blade damage and makes the terrain safer to work — particularly on properties that haven't been maintained for several seasons.
